Please pray for Matt. He actually gets to spend the weekend here with his two sons, Matthew Jr. age 8, and his stepson, Isaiah, age 14. Matt was given $300 he was owed while he was in Jail. But, he blew it all, in fact every cent, taking the boys to the mall in Austin and now he doesn't even have money to get them food and things. I've told him that we would make sure there was food but he's still upset that we had to move other people into his house to keep the mortgage paid while he was locked up. He is upset because the house he had been buying for years he's not even able to go and take his sons where they can just hang out. Please pray he comes to the realization that he had destroyed that house because of substance abuse and mental illness, and it was more like homeless people had taken over a squatters the water was turned off he hadn't paid the bill in months the electricity was about to be turned off he hadn't paid the bill in months the mortgage was going to cause him to get foreclosed on and lose the house because he hadn't been able to pay it in 3 months he had gone so steadily down with depression, bipolar, and addiction. His sons are fine with him being here living with us, his mom and dad, but apparently pride is really causing him a lot of despair, because his boys would rather be in a house that feels like a home. Matt has a long way to rebuild his life up to where he was when things were better for him. He didn't think you would ever have to live back here with us. Please pray that his horrible sour mood he's now and doesn't affect the visit and the time he gets to spend this weekend with his boys. Please Lord let him see that him being happy and content with what he has even though it's not what he wants, is really what those boys need right now. Matt is currently being such a jerk that none of us wants to be around him and he's making the boys feel guilty because Matt spent all his money on them. They were also happy until Matt got in one of his moods. It's a huge adjustment for Matt, being in jail for 45 days and then coming back to having to live with his parents. He was supposed to bring the TV in an air conditioner for the window from his old house it's in his shed but he chose to not do that yet because his pride won't let him accept the fact that he's going to be living here for a while.
