My name is Damian Khaw from Malaysia. I came across a Request for Favor in the form of a flyer for Father Peyton Guild Office of Vice Postulator in World Youth Day 2019 in Panama. For some reason it has always been with me, clipped between my bible. I've always wanted to write in through physical post, but ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, I've not been able to get out of the house to do so. Hence, I'm writing this online.
I have been an investment banker for a large part of my life where I commit myself to profits for the firm. I feel that the more I am part of the secular financial institution, the more I lose grip of my moral integrity as we were expected to obey superior's (economically unsustainable) orders & to do anything for a profit (eg: price manipulation, massaging financial data, etc).
However, after World Youth Day 2019, I decided to embark on a totally opposite direction. I began to involve myself more in voluntary activities & missions. I'm especially interested in infrastructure & community programs undertaken by various mission groups & orders under the Catholic Church in Vietnam, Myanmar & Philippines. With the aim of creating a sustainable future without compromising immediate needs, I recently registered my own family office named Melchizedek Capital.
The purpose of this firm is to dedicate a part of its annual earnings to be donated to charity, especially those most needy in the areas of youth development & immediate relief such as desperate healthcare needs & homeless aid. Above all, it is dedicated to the service of the church with every intent on making it a christian financial institution.
I started this firm with my own money & have recently made a healthy profit amidst the pandemic which will be utilised as mentioned above. And I'm now on a quest to raise more capital for this intent. I pray that the Lord may provide me the right amount of capital to continue on this endeavour & to bless my efforts in using my profits to help the poor & the weak, especially in this pandemic year.
Above all, I pray that all monies received are clean & are not of illicit origin & the methods which I make my profits are of legal & ethical means as Sirach 5:8 says "Do not rely on riches wrongfully acquired for they will be of no use to you on the day of wrath".
I know it's an unusual prayer request. But I'm certain this is my vocation in life. Please keep me in your prayers daily that I may carry out this calling.
Sincerely,
Damian Khaw
