Please pray for my son, Matthew. He has been having his little boy visit on alternating weekends with the boys mother Marie having the other weekends. Today was supposed to start Matt's visit for the weekend but since Marie has moved to San Antonio, it's a lot farther to drive. Matt said he would drive the entire way instead of meeting halfway in between, but Marie said it's too inconvenient because her new boyfriend has the only car in their family now and that he hasn't got a lot of money for gas. It's only a hour's drive. I think she's just playing games and trying to appease her new man and make Matt feel inferior because that's what she's done for so many years. Matt has been living exclusively for his son Matthew Jr for a long time now. Marie says that Matt will get Matthew Jr for the entire month of June during school vacation, and that she will get the entire month of July. We even offered to drive the entire way to pick up the little boy this weekend or next but she said he's happy now he has his own room, her new boyfriend bought him some type of card that goes to his Xbox so he could play on it more, etc. Matt feels like an absolute failure and that he's taking second place in the boy's heart now since his living arrangement seems to have improved with the move to San Antonio in Matt's eyes. The next few weeks is going to be really really hard on that and I fear that he will fall back into his depression and substance abuse and his heart will break to the point where he'll just leave or worse. Please pray for him. And that we won't have to wait an entire month without seeing little Matthew.
